Summer of Dignity

Over the past few months, we've experienced numerous exciting updates, highlighting a time of substantial progress and success for Dignity Period. Below are research highlights, a summary of our Paint It Pink Gala, a congratulations to a DP Co-Founder, and a NEW EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT.

First and foremost, we have seen groundbreaking new research findings that have emerged from our dedicated team in Mekelle, Ethiopia. This gives us a clearer picture of how anemia and heavy menstrual bleeding are affecting the people we serve — and they point toward practical, meaningful ways we can help. We're genuinely excited to share this with our community and partners because it strengthens the work we're doing together and moves us closer to ensuring everyone has the dignity and care they deserve.

In addition to these remarkable research developments, we are thrilled to announce that one of our esteemed DP Co-Founders, Helen Wall, has received special recognition as a St. Louis Women of Achievement award winner for her unwavering commitment and contributions to our mission. This honor is a testament to her hard work, vision, and the positive influence she has had on women and girls in the U.S. and Ethiopia. Celebrating such achievements not only inspires our team but also reinforces the values and goals that drive our initiatives. Congratulations, Helen!

In April, we hosted our most successful Paint It Pink Gala yet! The room was filled with supporters, partners, and community members who care deeply about expanding access to washable, reusable menstrual pads. The energy and shared purpose were incredible. Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, we raised funds that will directly strengthen our programs and help us reach even more people who need reliable menstrual care.

We have finalized the date for the 2027 gala and invite you to join us on Saturday, April 10th, at 6:30 p.m. at The Reverie in Chesterfield. Further details to come.

Finally, we are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming event...Dash for Dignity! This family-friendly run/walk will occur on October 3rd at Stacy Park in Olivette, MO. Keep an eye out for registration details, which will be available in early August.

Overall, the beginning of summer has been fantastic, filled with energy and optimism for the future. As we continue to build on these achievements, we stay dedicated to our mission and are eager to engage more with our community and stakeholders. We look forward to sharing more updates and celebrating our collective accomplishments in the upcoming months.

Remember, periods don't pause for summer, and neither do we. Your support propels our mission forward. If you would like Dignity Period to speak at your event or provide a virtual chat, please reach out to us at info@dignityperiod.org or plan to attend one of our upcoming events or Empower Hours.

At Dignity Period, we believe period products are not a luxury. They’re a basic necessity that allows students to stay in school, parents to go to work, and women and girls around the world to live with dignity.

That’s why we’re inviting you to add us to your monthly bill. Pun intended.

Monthly giving is one of the most powerful ways you can make a lasting difference. While one-time gifts are incredibly meaningful, recurring donations provide something just as valuable: consistency. Every recurring gift—no matter the size—builds a stronger, more sustainable future.
